Keeping Score: Joe Sestak Ad Complaint Rejected by All TV Stations; Sestak’s Liberal Record Exposed

Allentown, PA – Congressman Joe Sestak’s attempt to hide his liberal record and his support for Nancy Pelosi’s big-government agenda has failed miserably.
After a day of trying to convince television stations that an ad by the Chamber of Commerce misrepresents his record, all sixteen television stations are running the ad and the two Pittsburgh stations that had temporarily removed the ad are running them again – unchanged, as reported by the Morning Call’s Colby Itkowitz.
The ad claims that Joe Sestak voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time. This is certainly true for 2009, and much of 2010, but Congressmen Sestak is complaining because, he argues, his average voting score with Nancy Pelosi is only 97% -- a full THREE percentage points lower.
The truth is, Congressman Sestak has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time in 2009, much of 2010, and very nearly 100% over his entire congressional career. He has sided with the liberal Speaker on every major issue, from bailouts, to government-run health care, to massive deficits, to huge tax increases on Pennsylvania businesses, to a cap-and-trade energy tax.

“There’s a good reason why all of the television stations aren’t buying Joe Sestak’s laughable complaint,” Toomey Communications Director Nachama Soloveichik said. “It’s because it simply isn’t true. Over his three and a half years in Congress, Joe Sestak has marched in lockstep with liberal Nancy Pelosi, voting for all the major elements of her leftwing agenda, from serial bailouts, to government-run health care, to a cap-and-trade energy tax, to ballooning deficits, to billions of dollars in new tax increases. No wonder Congressman Sestak doesn’t want Pennsylvanians to see the ad.”
