STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - If you feel like you do not know that much about Pat Toomey, it is probably because he had a relatively easy primary fight last month. That while current seat holder Arlen Specter and eventual primary winner Joe Sestak grabbed state and national headlines in the months leading up to their Primary battle.

Toomey visited State College Monday, and said he is ready to get his message out. He was in town because he attended a local fundraising event. Toomey's a small business owner from Zionsville that is near Allentown. He told WTAJ he is not surprised he will be facing Sestak as opposed to long time senator Arlen Specter. He believed democrats would vote for the man he called a true liberal.

Toomey says his main goal if elected will be helping small businesses and reducing the national debt. He also believes our region's Marcellus Shale gas drilling could be a key factor in economic recovery for the state.

“I totally disagree with Joe Sestak's idea that we should have a complete moratorium on qas drilling that would be devastating to the economy of Central Pennsylvania. What we need to do is have sensible responsible properly regulated drilling,” Toomey (R) said.

Toomey said he thinks most Pennsylvanians do not like the Congress’s, a legislature controlled by Democrats, current path.  Being a republican, he believes that bodes well for him in November.

Pat is a real peoples candidate. He has our values and will fight for us.
