Sestak holds fast - Pushes PA trials for 9/11 plotters - Wall Street Journal

Rep. Joe Sestak, a Pennsylvania Democrat, U.S. Senate candidate and former Navy admiral, said Thursday the administration should send the plotters of 9/11 to federal court in Pennsylvania if politics block trials in Virginia or New York.
If they are to face federal charges, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his fellow alleged plotters must be brought to trial in a jurisdiction directly affected by the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Administration officials had wanted to try the Guantanamo detainees in the federal courthouse in Lower Manhattan, but they have run into a buzz saw of political opposition. Virginia is another option, but the politics will be just as fierce.
Enter Sestak, a lonely voice of support for federal trials among politicians running scared. The congressman is challenging Republican-turned-Democrat Arlen Specter in a hotly contested Senate primary, largely from the left, although he hails from a swing district that has tilted Republican.
But he would be happy to bring them to Pennsylvania as well. “I would accept them anywhere in America, to be brought here, to be brought to justice, to have the keys thrown away or to have them given the death sentence by a jury of our peers,” he said.
