National Taxpayers Union 2009 Grades - Specter: "D"; Sestak: "F"

Every year the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) rates U.S. Representatives and Senators on their actual votes - every vote that significantly affects taxes, spending, debt and regulatory burderns on consumers and taxpayers.

If these grades counted toward college credit, Arlen Specter and Joe Sestak would be on the verge of expulsion.

In 2009, the NTU gave Arlen Specter a "D" grade which indicates a "poor" voting record on controlling taxes and spending.

Joe Sestak fared even worse, receiving an "F" grade from the NTU. An "F" grade represents a significantly below average voting record on taxes and spending and places the member in the "Big Spender" category.

In Pat Toomey's 6 years in Congress, he received an NTU "A" rating every year and he was awarded the "Taxpayers' Friend Award" each year that he served.

We need leaders in Washington who will stand against huge taxing, borrowing and spending policies. Arlen Specter and Joe Sestak's tax and spend agendas clearly hurt Pennsylvania families struggling to make ends meet.

We need Pat Toomey because he'll help stop the irresponsible spending that's been ruining our economy. November can't get here quick enough!
